c. 1893-1896 bodice and skirt set in an interesting blend of different warp and weft fabrics and colors.  Garment is rough to the touch, but is almost iridescent. 

Bodice and skirt are lined with a glazed cotton, and the shoulders of the sleeves include gray cotton twill tabs for sleeve supports.   Skirt is gored, with a slight train at the back.

 

This is a fabulous example of the 1890s, and an understated, yet elegant gem!
