More Information: Although the density of the beading on this dress isn’t as considerable as other iconic flapper evening gowns, it still weighs heavily on the thin Georgette silk, putting strain on the shoulders. The central design has been created with a variety of materials: silver bugle beads, silvered glass beads, lamé or metallic embroidery, as well as celluloid pearls. The pearls, being an early plastic, have melted as they have aged, leaving crusty, half crushed beads throughout the design.
